Cooking Soup And Scones

Today the year sixes made soup, scones and butter. We got to choose who we worked with and I worked with Summer, Billie and Ethan. We all made cheese scones and vegetable soup. My favourite part was chopping the vegetables because Billie put the stock in the hot watt and it smelt delicious.

We are continuing to look at descriptive writing. This week you are writing a descriptive piece of writing to
promote your imaginary planet. You aim is to convince people to move to your planet. You want your
writing to allow the reader to be able to imagine what it is like on your planet.

First, we will look at an excerpt of a video describing the moon from the Avatar movie. Click here to get
to video= Pandora.

Second, we will discuss together what you will need in your work to make it successful and look at how
to plan our work. Then you will plan your work and check with a teacher before you start writing.

Third, do your piece of writing.

Fourth, complete you piece of writing. Remember to proofread (check spelling and punctuation) and edit
(does it make sense? do you need to change any sentences?) yourself and with a buddy and fill in your
self and peer-assessment. Check it with a teacher.

My Writing

Oceanoraus

Oceanoraus is a giant terrestrial planet. It is next to a waiwaiā  (beautiful) planet called Bluewaterina.
Bluewaterina is a tropical planet. It is 45℃ and is a giant terrestrial planet just like Oceanoraus. Oceanoraus
is 10℃ hotter than Bluewaterina so that means Oceanoraus is 55℃. Oceanoraus is in a solar system called
Rexgladon and is in a galaxy called the Sombrero Galaxy. The Sombrero Galaxy is about 28 million light
years away from earth. Oceanoraus has a marama (moon) called Sumoevey. Sumoevey formed from a giant
gas planet and a giant terrestrial planet colliding into each other breaking their orbits. Oceanoraus mostly
has wera (hot) weather and it has an atmosphere that you can breathe in.

Dinosaurs and Dragons live on Oceanoraus and other unusual/beautiful creatures live there. Dragons live
in a humongous cave but if you ever go there beware of the fire that the dragons breathe. The sharks, fish
and other sea creatures eat special food called Arona. Arona is many things mixed together like Ghano
seaweed, Fabaha plankton and Mahana Seaweed!

People called the Eanors live there; they are half human half Ika (fish). The Eanors have a secret language
called the Oraus Language. These people are can be tawa (purple), kahurangi (blue), kakariki (green) and
mawhero (pink). Eanors live in the trees and have little huts depending on how many family members they
have. They are friendly most of the time and are very good at cooking. Eanors are very fashionable and
very colourful. In Oceanoraus you pay by tokens and the tokens in Oceanoraus are made of wood. You
don’t go to the bank you  just go up to a tree and knock on it then wooden circles will fall from the leaves.
You can have this amazing fruit that is called Pine Mine. Pine Mine is fruit mixed with vegetables and Pine
Mine taste like lollies.

If you ever want to go to Oceanoraus I will tell you how to get there. First you must go to Australia and
when you get there you must go to the Little Sandy Desert. When you get to the Little Sandy Desert find
any little Gecko ONLY ON A FULL MARAMA (moon)! It should transform into a Pango (Black) Hole and
if it does step into it. Once you step into it you become an Eanor on Oceanoraus but if you don’t do it on a
full marama (moon) the Pango (Black) Hole won’t appear.

I definitely think that whoever's reading this should go to Oceanoraus. Oceanoraus is a safe planet and
friendly planet. The Eanors have a big tree hotel for visitors and have cute pets like Oppys and Pyttens. You
can go to the big underwater city or the big city on land. Oceanoraus is a wera (hot) tropical planet and is a
place where everyone’s nice. You should go to Oceanoraus.

Baking Chocolate Sponge!

Today 8th of June the year 6s made chocolate sponge cakes. We had to work in a group of 4 or one group with 5 and I worked with Summer, Billie, Charlie and Nathanael. We all did some mixing and put ingredients in. My favourite part was melting the butter because Charlie was being really funny. We finished first and our sponge finished cooking first. Charlie, Nathanael and I did the dishes and wiped the table. It was so fun and it smells yummy!

-I have some descriptive words in my writing (adjectives)

Best Part Of Me!

Waewae you’re a treat especially when you don’t smell so sweet. It’s a whetau (little) painful when you hikoi on concrete. You are the most unique looking feet even better than my rarahi (loud) beat. My matimati are joined to my waiwaiā (beautiful) feet. Thump, thump my kapa haka feet go trying to keep to the waiwaiā (beautiful) beat. The patterns on my waewae are so unique. My waewae are so important to me because I wouldn’t be able to wear my hū. They hold me up when I do yoga because my waewae are strong and sturdy. My feet are very precious to me and are definitely the best part of me!

Cooking Yummy Pizzas!

On Fridays we have activities because the yr 7s go to tech. Today 1/6/18 we made pizzas and my favourite part was making it with Nevey, Korban, Nathan and Nathanael. We put pizzas sauce, cheese, onion and ham. I made the dough with Nevey and Korban. Nathan and Nathanael did the topping and got things for us. It was so fun I love pizza!
